
The Virginia Center for the Creative Arts (VCCA) is now accepting applications for the 2021 Wachtmeister Award. A single award will be given to a visual artist working in any discipline or in a cross-disciplinary way.
Benefits
The selected applicant will receive:
• A fully-funded fellowship of up to 30 days (to be scheduled between 1 July 2021 and 31 January 2023) at VCCA in Amherst, VA.
• A $1000 honorarium.
• Reimbursed travel expenses of up to $750.
• Access to an individual studio and a private bedroom with bath, and meals provided in a community of over 20 professional writers, visual artists, and composers.
Eligibility
To be eligible applicants must have worked professionally as a visual artist for the past 15 years with substantial national or international achievement in their field, including grants, awards, performances/installations, etc. International artists are eligible to apply.
How To Apply
Artists submit the completed application form, including
• resume,
• third-person paragraph,
• work samples, and
• two letters of recommendation.
Notification will be sent by January 31, 2021.
